500 Years of Female Portraits in Western Art

This is rather lovely . . .

eggman913 (a/k/a Phillip, from St. Louis), published this remarkable video on youtube.com:

The music is Bach's Sarabande from Suite for Solo Cello No. 1 in G Major, BWV 1007 performed by Yo-Yo Ma; and the images range from "Archangel" attributed to the Novgorod School, Russia, 12th Century, to Picasso's "Portrait of Fran├žoise," 1946.

boniyetta, another youtube.com denizen, has identified each of the images at the maystuff.com website.

Thanks to both for this little web treat.
