Bing Crosby's annual Christmas Special was particularly odd in 1977, with David Bowie as the musical guest.
Their duet on Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth is now a classic; but, we rarely hear mention about Bowie's performace of "Heroes" on the same show. The video is dark, and stark, and features a montage of Bowie doing mime. It's not the type of performance by a musical guest that one generally saw on Bing Crosby's shows.
