Project Censored

Censorship is such a loaded word that most Americans either deny it happens or are uncomfortable discussing how it might happen in a media market as controlled as ours and what impact it might have on our culture, our society.

Project Censored is a website dedicated to promoting the news stories that the mainstream media has chosen to bury. They do choose to bury stories. There are important movements in our society right now being completely ignored by the mainstream media.

For instance, the impeachment of the current president and vice-president of knowingly defrauding the American government is an important news story. Daily consumers of mainstream media would be hard-pressed to know that there is a strong movement afoot to accelerate impeachment hearings.

If it ain't on Fox News, or it's kissing cousin CNN, then it can't be newsworthy. Right? Right.

Walter Cronkite, who as a television personality does not really deserve the incredible esteem his memory enjoys, but is a paragon of integrity when compared to the current batch of "talent" airing news, said "Project Censored is one of the organizations that we should listen to, to be assured that our newspapers and our broadcasting outlets are practicing thorough and ethical journalism."
