Mike Douglas never got his due in his lifetime. With his flower-power set and his guests that included rock stars and leftists, he brought to the mainstream a glimpse into the true dynamism of post-War and Vietnam-era America.
In this clip, Douglas treats a still rather conservative America to a tall, long-haired black man, exposing his torso while singing funk with an inter-racial band on lunchtime television.
